FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We believe when homeowners are well-educated about the options available to them, they are empowered to make the best choice for their home, so we’re glad you’re asking questions.

If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for – or just want more information – please don’t hesitate to call.

Residential Roofing

  • Inspections are 100% free. We want to be sure you’re educated on the state of your home, so we offer no-obligation inspections year-round.

  • Absolutely! We can replace or repair any damage to your roof as long as weather holds out. In the event of severe weather, we will be in contact with you about your installation date.

  • Yes. We offer financing through GreenSky, including 18 month same-as-cash financing. At the time you receive your estimate, we can help you apply and see if you qualify for GreenSky Financing.

  • Yes. We offer a workmanship warranty with every installation. There is also a manufacturer’s warranty, which varies in length depending on the manufacturer.

  • If the damage is minor and isolated, we can certainly repair where needed. After your inspection, your roofing expert will discuss these options with you, and often recommend repairs if there is isolated damage.

  • The longevity of your roof depends greatly on your region and year-to-year weather. We recommend having an inspection every other year to monitor your roof’s condition. In general, you can expect asphalt composition shingles to perform for 15 years.

  • It depends on the size of your roof and the material used. Typically, a traditional asphalt shingle roof can be replaced in 1 to 3 days.

  • We offer a wide variety of roof types and colors to meet your needs. Some homeowner’s associations will have specific guidelines to adhere to. Our consultants will help you select a product that meets these requirements, while also picking a roof you will love.

  • If your roof is older, if you can see grains and granules on the ground or in your guttering, or especially if your roof is over 20 years old, it is likely time for a replacement.

  • If you are concerned you may have damage, the most reliable way to find out is to have your roof inspected by an expert. Some signs of damage to look out for would be hail damage to your guttering and/or bent ventilation caps, or any signs of water leaking inside your home.

Commercial Roofing

  • If we feel we can repair your roof and increase the service life, that is what we will recommend. If we feel that it is beyond repair and would not make financial sense to repair the current roof, we will then provide options to replace the roof. We often perform an informal moisture scan on low-slope roofs to determine how much water the roof is holding. This helps us decide if repairs will provide a suitable outcome.

  • Repairs usually take about 1 to 2 days to complete, but that will often depend on the number of defects we identify during the inspection. The length may differ depending on the weather.

  • A staging area is normally required for dumpster placement next to the building (only for commercial projects – not residential). Sometimes an additional area may be required to store material and equipment. In most cases it depends on the size of the job and the accessibility of the area.

  • It probably will be noisy since it is a temporary construction site. A roof tear-off will be noisy. The gas-powered equipment that we use will make noise, but it will quiet down once we begin to apply the new roof. We will work with you on a schedule that is most convenient for you and the building. We have experience on jobsites requiring quieter work environments, like hospitals and schools.

  • It depends on the size of the job, how long it takes and the types of adhesives used. We take precautions to help keep the aroma from entering the building. We also can use a low VOC adhesive, but it may be slightly higher in cost.

  • We will always work within your budget to resolve any roof issues, but on occasion, complete resolution may be more than was budgeted. If that is the case, we will certainly provide you with other options but also educate you on the pros and cons of all solutions.

  • Yes! We’ve been proudly serving the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas for nearly a quarter-century.

  • Many factors determine the project timeline, such as the weather, the size of the project, and roof system. We will do everything we can to meet your timelines.

  • Red River Roofing was established in 1999 – more than 25 years ago – and has grown to be one of the top-ranked contractors in our state, with a fleet of more than 35 vehicles. Our success and growth in the industry have led us to expand our commercial division to one of the best repair and maintenance teams in Oklahoma.

  • We can typically begin 30 to 60 days from contract signing. It will take time to properly plan out the materials and labor needed to complete your project. Weather also plays an important role in our timeline. Each situation is different, so if you have a timeline in mind, please give us a heads up and we will do what we can to accommodate.

Siding

  • Inspections are free! We want to be sure homeowners are fully educated on the state of their home, so we offer no-obligation inspections year-round.

  • Absolutely! The amount of time installation takes is negligible, and any money lost on your energy bill during this short period of time will be more than made up for in savings over the following years with new, energy-efficient siding.

  • Yes. We offer financing through GreenSky, including 12 month same-as-cash financing. At the time you receive your estimate, we can help you apply and see if you qualify for GreenSky Financing.

  • Yes. We offer a workmanship warranty with every installation. There is also a manufacturer’s warranty which varies in length depending on the manufacturer.

  • Most of our siding is low maintenance. Each siding has different levels of resistance to weathering and dirt, which we will be more than happy to explain in depth during your consultation.

  • The best way to know is to have your siding inspected. Some signs to look for would be swelling around nail heads, separation of siding joints, or swelling on the bottom layers of siding. Other interior signs to look for are water spots and leaks.

  • Each home is different in its style and needs. We offer many kinds of siding, and finding the best material, shape and color can be a difficult choice. Our consultants will inspect your home and help you determine the best product to meet all your needs.

  • It will depend on the siding being installed, and what siding was previously on the home. The best process is to remove the old siding to properly inspect for water damage. If you have concerns about removing your old siding, don’t hesitate to discuss this with your consultant.

Windows

  • Inspections are totally free! We want to be sure you are fully educated on the condition of your home, so we offer no-obligation inspections year-round.

  • Absolutely! The amount of time that installation takes is negligible, and any money lost on your energy bill during this short period of time will be more than made up for in savings over the following years with new, energy-efficient windows.

  • Yes. We offer a workmanship warranty with every installation. There is also a manufacturer’s warranty which varies in length depending on the manufacturer.

  • Most of your installation will be done from the outside with some inside access needed. If there is anything directly under your windows, we advise you to move it, making a small path for the installer to come in. Not much room will be needed.

  • Low-E is a coating on the inside of the glass that helps to reflect heat and prevent heat transfer without sacrificing the light windows bring in. You can learn more about glass packages here.

  • Grids are an aesthetic choice, which are optional in most windows. We offer a variety of grid options to choose from, including no grids at all.

  • If you have condensation or fog that cannot be wiped off from the inside or outside, there’s a good chance you have a broken seal in your window. This means it is no longer providing you with good insulation. If you have original, builder-grade windows, you can surely benefit from new, more energy-efficient and thermally effective windows.

  • This depends greatly on the number of windows you have. A good rule of thumb is one hour per window. Typical window installations can be done in a single day, often in only a few hours!

  • No, they do not. All our windows are custom-built to fit the exact dimensions needed to fit the home properly, including any change in squareness.

Doors

  • We carry ProVia and Waudia lines of entry, security, patio and storm doors. Our team has identified these manufacturers as absolute best-in-the-market, and can work with you do design the ideal doors for your home.

  • Absolutely. From endless combinations of finishes, woodgrain, colors and textures to artisan-crafted stained glass, hardware packages and more, we can create the door to match your home and personality.

  • Red River’s doors lead the way in energy efficiency and thermal performance.

  • Your door will be custom-built to precisely match your home’s dimensions, providing superior fit.

  • Yes. Red River’s doors come with a lifetime limited warranty, which includes glass breakage and seal failure. They are also transferrable to the next homeowner.

Gutter Guards

  • No gutter guard is 100% maintenance free. However, our gutter guards require the least amount of upkeep in the industry.

  • A great way to clean your gutter guard is with the Gutter Guard Brush. It’s designed to clean off any gutter guard without having to get on a ladder or roof. Just screw the brush on the end of any standard extension pole, then from the ground, reach up and brush it off. For more information and where to buy, visit www.TheGutterGuardBrush.com.

  • No. When the gutter guard is installed, it’s extremely difficult to see from the ground because of the sleek, low-profile design. The front aluminum extrusion that connects to the top of your gutter comes in the natural color of the aluminum finish, which is basically a dull silver color.

  • Yes. Sometimes, inside miters at the end of a roof valley can cause challenges for any gutter guard, causing rainwater to run over in a downpour. If that’s the case, you may want to install a perforated rainwater diverter along the edge of the roof on the inside miter. This will help break up and dissipate the rainwater over a wider area rather than at one point.

  • About 99% of the time, small roof sand grit will not clog the mesh. You can have challenges with inside miters (inside gutter corners) where there is high accumulation of small debris and rainwater that congregate at the bottom of the roof valley. These areas will need to be brushed off from time to time. In the straight runs of gutter, when the rain drops come down, they splash the roof sand grit off. There will always be a little grit there in the front trough, but it cycles off the mesh, over the gutter and onto the ground and is replaced by other grit coming down the roof.
